St. Thomas Aquinas's catechesis program (CCD) combines monthly classroom lessons with weekly home lessons. On Family Formation Sunday, we begin with a family lunch. Afterwards, children and teens are divided by age and are taught by trained catechists. Meanwhile, parents learn about the topics of faith they will pass along to their children at home during three home lessons.
For all ages, our approach is down-to-earth, engaging, and multi-sensory. Through this time together as a parish, families are encouraged not only by parish staff, but by other families who are also undertaking the same task of raising their children in the Faith.
This model provides parents with the tools they need to share the Good News and the beauty of the Catholic Faith with their children and to form them into true disciples of Jesus Christ.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: In addition to the monthly Family Formation program, parents of 2nd graders follow a sacrament-based at-home curriculum with support from the Director of Religious Education.
